Privacy Notice

This is a privacy notice, not a contractual agreement. Cleanroom.com is currently in public preview and is not yet an incorporated entity. This notice describes, in plain language, what information is collected when you visit this site and how it is used.

What We Collect

Cleanroom.com is a static informational directory. We collect very little data. Here is what may be collected when you visit:

• Server logs: Our hosting provider (Vercel) may automatically log basic request data such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages you visit. This is standard for any website and is used for security and reliability purposes.
• Local storage: If you save suppliers to a favorites list, that data is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key savedSuppliers. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
• Contact emails: If you email us (for example, to request a listing removal), we receive whatever information you include in your email.
• AI chatbot conversations: If you use the AI chatbot assistant on this site, the messages you send are transmitted to our server and forwarded to a third-party AI service (Anthropic) for processing. Conversations are not stored on our servers after the session ends. See "Third Parties" below for details.
• IP-based rate limiting: Our chatbot API uses your IP address solely to enforce rate limits (preventing abuse). IP addresses are held in temporary server memory and are not logged or stored persistently.

We do not require account creation, logins, or passwords. We do not collect names, phone numbers, payment information, or any other personal data through the site itself.

How We Use It

The limited data described above is used only for:

• Keeping the site running and secure (server logs)
• Responding to your inquiries (contact emails)
• Providing you with a saved-supplier feature in your own browser (localStorage)

We do not sell, share, or rent any visitor data to third parties. We do not use data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

Cookies

Cleanroom.com does not set first-party cookies. For details on cookies that may be set by third-party resources loaded on this site (such as fonts or CDN assets), see our Cookie Notice.

Third Parties

The site relies on a small number of third-party services to function:

• Vercel: Hosting and content delivery. Vercel may collect server log data as described above. See Vercel's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts: Web fonts are loaded from Google's servers. Google may log font requests. See Google's privacy policy.
• Font Awesome: Icon fonts are self-hosted on our own servers. No third-party requests are made for icons.
• Anthropic (AI chatbot): When you use the AI chatbot assistant, your messages are sent to Anthropic's API (Claude) to generate responses. Anthropic processes the conversation content according to their usage policies. No personally identifying information is sent beyond the message text itself. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand how visitors use the site, including page views and traffic sources. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects anonymized usage data. See Google's privacy policy.

We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or payment processors on this site.

Your Rights

Because we collect minimal data, there is generally very little personal information for us to manage. That said:

• You can clear your saved suppliers at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site.
• If you have emailed us and would like your correspondence deleted, let us know at info@cleanroom.com.
• You can block third-party requests (Google Fonts, Cloudflare CDN) using browser extensions or privacy settings. The site will still function with reduced styling.

If privacy regulations such as the GDPR or CCPA apply to you, we respect your rights under those frameworks. Contact us if you have questions about exercising those rights.

Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for its stated purpose:

• Server logs: Managed by Vercel per their retention policy (typically short-term).
• Contact emails: Retained for up to 12 months after the last correspondence, then deleted.
• Chatbot conversations: Not stored on our servers. Messages exist only in your browser session and are cleared when you close or refresh the page. Anthropic's retention of API data is governed by their own policies.
• Rate limiting data: Held in temporary server memory only. Lost when the server process restarts (typically within minutes).
• Saved suppliers (localStorage): Persists until you clear it. We have no access to this data.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Cleanroom.com does not sell, share, or rent personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. This applies to all visitors regardless of location. If you are a California resident under the CCPA/CPRA, we confirm: we do not sell or share your personal information as defined by California law.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be updated as the site evolves. When changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
